2025 Halloween Rug Hooking Event
October 23-24-25, 2025

Bring your costumes, or just your Witch's Hat for Friday night !

VENUE: Baymont, by Wyndham, Owatonna, 245 Florence Avenue, Owatonna, Minnesota. Room reservations: 507-455-1142, under the Group Name: Halloween Rug Hooking Event 2025

​The Hook-in will be held in the Heritage Meeting Rooms at the Hotel. Doors will open each day at

9:00 AM. You can park in the back parking lot of the Hotel and enter through the Kitchen doors to the Meeting Rooms. Please check in with Joyce when you arrive at the Hook-in.

EVENT SCHEDULE will be posted in the Hooking Room on Thursday.

​VENDORS:  Georgia Adams, Georgeville Store, Patty Morning, Dyed 4 Ewe, and Straight River Rug Hooking​​​​

​CLASSGeorgia Adams:  Georgia is a well-known rug Artist among the Rug Hooking Community. Georgia will offer a class in hooking her recent pattern, "Pocketbook", featured on the cover and inside the June/July 2025 ATHA Journal. This pattern is an adaption of a silk purse from the 1700's. The pattern is 31" x 25", drawn on linen and sells for $100.00.

The 3-day Class Fee for Georgia's class is $100.00. The class is "Open" meaning that you can hook any pattern that you wish and use your own wool or, you can contact Georgia and purchase one of her patterns. Georgia's patterns are shown on her FaceBook page:  Georgeville Store. Georgia will help you with color planning your pattern, teach you a few tricks, and provide tips for hooking a beautiful rug. Registration for this class is mandatory, as there are limited chairs available.

 

CLASS:  Vicki McCutchan: 10/23/25, Thursday afternoon  (Half-Day).  Class Fee:  $25.00 

In this half-day class, Vicki will teach you how to make 3 flowers:  a large Peony, Small Flowers and a Foxglove that you can use in your rugs or on applique projects. Supplies needed for class:  Needle, thread and wool for flowers:  10x12'', Peony; 4x8", Foxglove; 4x8", Small Flowers

MEALS: Dinner will be catered on Thursday and Lunch catered on Friday for registered attendees only. Other meals will be on your own for the Hook-in. There are plenty of eating establishments within walking distance of the Hotel or within a short distance by vehicle. You are welcomed to bring appetizers, snacks, desserts etc., to share with the group. I will provide all paper and plastic products.

SALE TABLE: Available in the Hooking Room for fiber-related items only. PLEASE no wool. Mark your items with your name & price. Take home what you don't sell.​

​​WOOL SNATCH GAME: This is a fun game we play Friday afternoon to get everyone laughing and to get to know each other better. You will end up taking home a quarter yard of wool for participating! If you wish to play, you need to donate a quarter yard of wool. Give your quarter yard of wool to Joyce. ​ To make this fair for everyone participating, please make sure you are donating a quarter yard of wool. Thank you.​

RUG SHOW:  Bring your rugs to show off or show what you are working on! The Rug Show will be in the Heritage Room, Friday.​

OPEN SHOPPING:  Saturday, 10 AM - Noon. There is no charge for stopping in at the Hook-in Saturday morning just to shop for supplies.

​​This Hook-in will end at 6:00 PM Saturday night

ENTRY FEES      $75 (for 2-3 days)                    $30 (for one day)

You MUST register for this Hook-in prior to September 20, 2025 due to limited space available and to aid in ordering catered meals(2).  Fill out the Registration Form, below, and return the registration to address shown on form along with your check, prior to September 20th.
