Annual Spring Hook-in 

The Annual Spring Hook-in will be held in Owatonna, MN at the Baymont Inn & Suites, Heritage Meeting Rooms, May 16-17-18, 2024. This Hook-in has been held every year, at this Hotel, since May 2008.

VENUE:  Baymont Inn & Suites, by Wyndham, 245 Florence Avenue, Owatonna, MN. Discounted block of rooms reserved until May 1, 2024. Be sure to ask for a room under the group name, “Spring Rug Hooking Event”.

 

The Hook-in is in the Heritage Meeting Rooms at the Hotel. Doors will open at 9:00 AM each day. You can park in the back parking lot of the hotel and enter through the kitchen doors to the Meeting Rooms. Please check in with me when you arrive at the Hook-in. Hooking Room will be open 9 AM – 10:00 PM. Doors will be locked to the Hooking Room each night and opened at 9 AM by Joyce. No one is allowed in the Hooking Room after doors are locked at night.

 

ENTRY FEE:  $50 (for 2-3 days)            $30 (for 1 day)

 

CLASS:  “Flower Basket Sampler”, taught by Vicki McCutchen. Class dates, May 16-17-18th, 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Class description attached. Teacher will contact Registered Students by email regarding Supply List.

Class Fee:  $75.00 – Pre-registration is required for Hook-in to take this class. See Class Description below

 

MEALS: Thursday and Friday lunch will be catered (one fee for 2 lunches). Lunch fee is $15.00, total per person. Volunteers will be asked to provide salad for Thursday lunch. Hotel serves Continental Breakfast every morning. Other meals will be on your own.

 

VENDORS:  Patti Morning, Dyed4Ewe; Straight River Rug Hooking

 

SALE TABLE:  Available in the Hooking Room for fiber-related items only. PLEASE, no wool.

 

WOOL SNATCH GAME:  Bring a quarter yard of wool to participate in the Wool Snatch Game, Friday afternoon. This is a fun game where every participant will get a quarter yard of beautiful wool when the game is finished.

 

RUG SHOW:  Rug Show will be in the Heritage Room Saturday afternoon. Time will be announced at Hook-in.

 

OPEN SHOPPING:  Saturday, 10 AM – Noon. There is no charge for stopping in at the Hook-in on Saturday to shop.

 

DOOR PRIZES:  Door prizes given out during Thursday and Friday at the Hook-in

 

Hook-in will end at 6:00 PM Saturday night.
